One of the schools we support through the Adoption of school classes programme is the Salesian secondary school of St. Don Bosco in the village of Manguo near Maridi. For the last school year, Salesian Don Charles Taban has been in charge of it and he gave us an insight into the needs and challenges they face. Currently, the construction of sanitary facilities is in progress, especially for the male and female students, which have been lacking there until now. The bricks are being made locally and the students are also helping. At the same time, the construction of a simple accommodation facility for teachers who come from neighbouring countries is also ongoing. One of the plans for next year is to equip the school laboratory, which is lacking in the school. It is necessary for the study of chemistry, biology and physics and would greatly help the students in their education. At the same time, Don Charles Taban tries to actively involve the students in the life of the school, organizing meetings where they have the opportunity to express their plans, and visions and learn how to communicate properly and develop their potential. It is through our Adoption school classes program in South Sudan that you too can support education in developing countries. For further information on how you can get involved, please visit our website.
