On the second weekend of October 2022, Salesian missionary delegates from several countries met in Prague in order to meet in person after a longer time period. One of the main topics was Project Europa (launched in 2008) – how to restore Salesian charisma on the old continent. Related to this project is connected the need of amendment of the concept of Salesian activities and preparation of the communities for the arrival of missionaries often from completely different cultural backgrounds, while also helping the missionaries themselves to integrate well into the new environment. Another topic was volunteering in the Covid-19 period, the effects of partial or even complete suspension of the preparation of new volunteers, but also what positives and new possibilities this stage brought. The meeting was also attended by the Slovak delegate for missions, Štefan Kormančík SDB, who is also the director of SAVIO o.z. and is one of the members of the coordination team of Salesian missionary volunteering.
