“UNTIL THE LAST MOMENT, WE ARE WITH PEOPLE”

The Salesian Provincial, has shared the news from Ukraine and he appeals to us to pray and to be open to refugees who come to our country.

“Until the last moment, we are with people. We try to be those who give hope to people who are disappointed. We create space for refugees in our Salesian structures, we prepare places to hide for cases of the bombing. Today we expect the first refugees whom our brother don Oleg, who went to fighting areas near Russian borders, will bring. He went there and risked his life. In our orphanage, where we have 70 children, more children will be placed from orphanages in Eastern Ukraine and from families with difficulties. We are preparing places. We must also secure everything needed for the life in provisional conditions. Dear brothers, first of all, I humbly ask that you pray for Ukraine and that you will be open if refugees come to your country. Thank you for all your help and support.”

Salesian Sisters from the ukrainen community report that they are alright and that their house is open. They want to welcome a large number of people, mainly women with small children, who run away to save themselves from attacks. And when these people are in a hiding place, Salesian Sisters pray the rosary with them.

“This is our weapon! In prayer, we thank those who give their lives to protect us and we thank God who has given us another day of life.”

Communities in other cities are also in solidarity with others in a mutual exchange of concrete help and encouragement. In cooperation with the Chuch and catholic organizations, FMA communities in Poland offer support and welcome many people who, in order to be safe with their families, cross borders.
