Tehlička

The Tehlička is a regular, nation-wide Slovak event which has been organized since 2006 during Lent. Its main objective is to inform and educate people about life in the poorest countries and regions of the world and lead people to solidarity and mutual responsibility. Tehlička possesses the status of public fundraising, serving to support development projects.

    The event was directly supported by more than 130 pre-school facilities, primary and secondary schools, and almost 50 youth organizations and other institutions in municipalities of Slovakia. Through the subjects, approximately 60% of the total funds were collected. The rest was sent by individual donors, either by bank transfers, or through 2,872 SMS. Our gratitude belongs to all donors and participants. The total outcome of the Tehlička for Kenya reached 48,887.22 euro.

    The net fundraising outcome was distributed as follows:

    1. a contribution to construct a carpentry workshop in the Bosco Boys center, Nairobi – 25,000 euro
    2. a construction of a well for a school in Manguo-Maridi, South Sudan – 10,000 euro
    3. a contribution to reconstruct schools in Haiti – 6,500 euro
