The election of Pope Leo XIV made the whole world go round. Robert Francis Prevost, served as a missionary in Peru for more than two decades. His extensive experience and work with the poorest on the margins of society deeply influenced his views on social justice and human rights. Already during his time as a cardinal in Latin America, he advocated for the marginalized, supported the rights of Venezuelan refugees, and criticized political injustice.

Because he is a religious, he is all the more close to the Salesians of Don Bosco, who work with poor youth in the South American country of Ecuador. You can still support their ministry through our Tehlička collection for Ecuador, which supports the work of the centre in San Lorenzo, a dangerous area on the border with Colombia. Share with the poorest of the poor and become a missionary too! Thank you!

“A missionary does not go where they want him, but where they need him, and stays where they want him, even though they no longer need him.” Archbishop Robert Prevost of Chiclayo
