Manuel, Patricia and Samuel are three young, former Salesian missionary volunteers who have spent the last year in Africa and left a piece of themselves behind. Two weeks ago we welcomed returning volunteer Manuel from Mafinga, Tanzania. Today, after 11 months in Kenya, the Parlagi couple flew back to Slovakia and we want to thank them all together with this video.
Dear volunteers, Paťka, Samko and Manu! Thank you for the time you devoted to the youth in Africa. Thank you on behalf of all the boys from the Bosco Boys’ Centre and Don Bosco Seminary to whom you gave your love, attention and whom you taught a lot. We hope that the mission will leave in you good memories and develop the most beautiful qualities you have.
Read the last blog written by the Parlagi couple while they were still in Kenya. In it, they describe how leaving was imminent a little earlier and what it was like to realize they were spending their last weeks in the heart of Langata. “Now all that is left for us to do is to keep all these experiences and learnings in our minds, to write them in our hearts, and when we return, to live this way, to spread awareness for missions and for any kind of aid that changes not only the lives of those to whom it is given, but also our own.” Read more in the blog post Leaving the nest with 40 children.
