Tonj, South Sudan – On the Feast of St. Joseph, March 19, 2025, the first solemn Mass was celebrated in the new multifunctional school hall at the St. Bakhita Educational Center. This significant project was made possible thanks to the generous support from the TEHLIČKA 2024 public collection for South Sudan.
With great gratitude, the school principal, Sister Betty Amos FMA, wrote to us: “Thank you very much for this precious gift that restores the dignity of the children.” The new school hall provides shelter from the scorching sun and tropical rains for more than 1,100 students and their teachers.
The hall is already being actively used – it serves as a school canteen daily, Masses are celebrated there every Wednesday and on holidays, and it is also a venue for various school and extracurricular activities.
Thanks to the support of many of you, we have collectively managed to create a safe and comfortable environment that contributes to the education and spiritual growth of the pupils and students at the mission in Tonj. Your generosity has a real and lasting impact on their lives. Thank you for that!
