Thanks to the quick response of the Salesian family in Slovakia, 50 boys from the orphanage in Lviv made it safely to Slovakia, where they and their two guardians found refuge in Mama Margita’s House in Drienica. The boys will then move in pairs to Slovak families who will gladly welcome them in their homes. In addition, humanitarian aid was taken to the Salesians in Ukraine thanks to volunteers from the Salesian parish of Tri hôrky.
A number of people were involved in the transport of the boys, state officials who helped the Salesians to complete all the official formalities in record time. Besides many helpful state officials, the Košice Self-Governing Region and the transport company Eurobus helped us very operatively with the transportThank you!
“We could not have done it without them. Their work was much greater: we can’t even name it exactly, it’s a lot of officials from the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family to the border guards and finally the CDR(Center for kids and families) Prešov”, informed the Vicar of the Provincial Peter Jacko, sdb, who spent the night in the car at the border, waiting for the group.
