The aim of this year’s 40-day fundraising activity Tehlička 2022 is financial support for the accommodation facility construction which will be provided for Salesian school teachers in Kakuma, Africa. The local Salesian school offers high-quality education for domestic Turks, as well as for the people from the Kakuma refugee camp. The greatest challenge concerning education in this community is the rising shortage of teachers. Many teachers are afraid to come/move to this remote region. The solution will be to build an accommodation facility that will offer those teachers an environment safe enough for them to be able to devote themselves fully to teaching. That is why we decided to restart the Tehlička fundraising action from 2020 for Kakuma and support the opportunity to educate children and young people in this African region again. The Salesians inform us regularly about the proceeding construction of not only the accommodation facility but also of a basketball court and some office buildings there.
