Choosing new school uniforms for local secondary schools, supported by Slovak donors via the Adoption of Classes program, is a major issue. The Director of Salesian Secondary School in Maridi, Don Charles Taban has announced its selection procedure just a couple of days ago. The procedure is open also to students, parents, and teachers. Not a very common thing in Slovakia, but pupils and students in South Sudan attend school in uniform and, despite the poverty, they care about how they go to school dressed, especially when it concerns the students.

The number of students in secondary schools is greatly reduced in comparison to the number of pupils in primary schools, and those are considered in a certain way to be the local elite. This is especially noticeable among girls, who are often not allowed to continue their studies by their families. Right now, in August, primary school graduates are applying for their first year at this secondary school, which they will already enter in new uniforms.

Thank you for your prayers and support for education in developing countries.
